Senior Citizens’ Legal Services has offered free legal services to seniors in Santa Cruz and San Benito for over fifty years and frequently through the years has provided monthly educational zoom webinars. These webinars educate senior residents and our community in general on legal issues affecting seniors. In 2021, beginning in August, Executive Director Tanya Ridino educated our Community with a Senior Wellness webinar focusing on Powers of Attorneys, Advanced Health Care Directives, and Elder Abuse. Other topics listed above.
The 2021 webinar project was generously funded by a grant received from the Community Foundation for San Benito County. With potential to reach a large portion of the senior population, SCLS covered legal topics including estate planning, Medi-Cal, Social Security, Housing, and more. The topics being offered are commonly encountered by seniors, and our webinars are intended to provide legal information to ease concerns we’ve seen. If a recording is not found on this page above, please call Senior Citizens' Legal Services information line at (831) 426-8824 to inquire.
If any senior has a need or legal question persisting after the workshop, just call us at 831-426-8824 to schedule an appointment with one of our advocates to have your needs addressed with our staff. SCLS would be happy to conduct a follow-up consultation over the phone, Monday through Wednesday. Videophone consultations are also now being offered from secure locations throughout San Benito County. Our office is currently open by appointment only, and in-person intakes are being provided with masked and vaccinated seniors on Tuesdays in Hollister and Watsonville. Call to schedule or for further information.
